The mark of responsible forestry

The Northeastern Lumber Manufacturers Association (NELMA) is the rules-writing agency for Eastern White Pine lumber and the grading authority for Eastern Spruce, Balsam Fir, Spruce-Pine-Fir (SPF) grouping, and other commercially important eastern softwood lumber species.

The WCLIB is currently one of only six organizations in the United States accredited by the American Lumber Standard Committee (ALSC) to write and promulgate lumber grading rules, and provide grade inspection and supervision services. The WCLIB is also accredited by the ALSC to provide heat treating inspection and supervisory services for manufacturers of wood pallets and crating.

Supported by Western lumber manufacturers, WWPA delivers lumber grading, quality control, technical, business information, and product support services to sawmills as well as those who use Western softwood lumber products throughout the world.

The American Wood Protection Association (AWPA) is a non-profit organization which promulgates voluntary wood preservation standards.

The SPIB mark represents quality assurance and reflects our commitment to lead the industry in exacting standards, thorough training, and innovative application of advanced technologies to ensure the integrity of softwood lumber products.

The mission of the Northeastern Retail Lumber Association (NRLA) is to represent, unite, train, and lead independent lumber and building material dealers doing business in the northeastern United States.
